Many Sugartown assets are on Abstract Chain. Abstract is an Ethereum Layer 2 network, built to be a more scalable alternative to Ethereum.
Abstract Chain is EVM-compatible, however Abstract offers the Abstract Global Wallet (AGW) which is a cross-application smart contract wallet solution. AGW is a seamless way to access dApps on Abstract — but it is not chain-agnostic, meaning that you cannot use your AGW for functions on other chains or Ethereum mainnet.
Performing activity on Abstract while using an AGW gives the opportunity to earn Abstract XP.
Best Practices
If you are a Sugartown holder, best practices are as follows:
Oras — link your EVM wallet to an AGW
CORES — hold your CORES on an AGW
Do NOT send Oras to your AGW wallet. They will be irrecoverable and lost forever.
Following best practices will help you accrue and maximize your potential Abstract XP.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I link my EVM wallet to an AGW?
To properly link your wallets, you'll need to complete the below steps:
Login with your AGW, use the same login method each time
Click Link new wallet
Connect the EVM wallet you would like to link
Make sure you have Abstract ETH in your EVM wallet for gas
Approve the link transaction
You will see both wallet addresses appear on the page if successful.
Linking a sign in method is not the same function as linking wallets. If you linked using the Profile section of the Abstract Portal, your wallets are not linked.
How does linking wallets work?
Linking an EVM to AGW is a seamless experience on the user end.
You link your EVM wallet to an AGW wallet via link.abs.xyz
Prior to any airdrop of an asset on Abstract, the Sugartown developers run a query that checks for a linked AGW
If AGW is linked, airdrop is sent to AGW
If AGW is not linked, airdrop is sent to EVM
Linking is a read-only function, not a delegation. You cannot perform actions on behalf of your EVM wallet from an AGW.
You can easily link multiple EVM wallets to one AGW to ensure future airdrops from multiple wallets are received by the same AGW for potential Abstract XP.
Why should I link my EVM to an AGW?
By holding an Ora or CORE, you receive recurring airdrops. Some assets airdropped (Game Cards, Pods) are on Abstract Chain.
After linking your EVM wallet to an AGW, you will receive all Abstract airdrops on your AGW. This gives you the potential to accrue and maximize Abstract XP.
How do I get Abstract ETH on an EVM wallet?
To get Abstract ETH, you'll need to bridge ETH to Abstract.
Head to Jumper (or your preferred cryptocurrency exchange)
Connect with your EVM wallet
Ensure you have mainnet ETH in the wallet
Select Ethereum → ETH in the first box
Select Abstract → ETH in the second box
Enter your desired swap amount (don't forget about gas!)
Select the Best return
Click Review bridge
Click Start bridging
Once your transaction goes through, you now have Abstract ETH!
